But I just think I’m free

From the track Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal, who turns out to be a remarkably insightful lyricist when he’s not rapping about working it with the ladies:

I wake up, every day is a daydream
Everything in my life isn’t what it seems
I wake up just to go back to sleep
I act real shallow but I’m in too deep
And all I care about is sex and violence
And a heavy bass line is my kind of silence
Everybody says that I got to get a grip
But I let sanity give me the slip

  1. I’m sorry dude… I listened to the clip 10x but I just don’t hear what you hear. I hear a Kenyan trying to be all he can be but nothing more than that.
