Historically, though, it wasn’t normal; it’s fairly new, in fact. (Mistresses and lovers on the side aren’t quite the same thing, as often there are feelings involved there.) Only now, are people sufficiently selfish and narcissistic, that such ‘relationships’ have become common.

Also known as “Friends with Benefits” – the benefits being that, as well as the conversation and support, there’s the chance of sex if you both feel like it, but there’s no incentive to be monogamous, married or behave like a couple.
It’s common in gay communities – so much so that there’s even a term for close male friends who don’t have sex – They’re “Sisters”.
Interesting that it’s taken so long for such a normal relationship to be researched.

Thank you for the definition. Now I need to know what “the sexual privileges of a relationship with only the emotional involvement of a friendship.” means………I didn’t know this was measured by quantities. What’s the unit of emotional involvement?

Booty Calling = F.W.F. ( Friends Who Fornicate), ie. the sexual privileges of a relationship with only the emotional involvement of a friendship.
